Medieval Rushlight Holder / Candlestick, hand-forged

Product information "Medieval Rushlight Holder / Candlestick, hand-forged"

Hand-Forged Medieval Rushlight Holder with Candle Cup

Rushlights were the lighting source of choice from the Stone Age until well into the 19th century.

This rushlight holder is patterned after historical examples and forged by hand. A piece of fatwood or kindling is simply clamped into the pincer part of the holder. It can burn brighter and faster or produce a dimmer flame which will last longer, depending on the angle of inclination chosen to hold it in place.

The model we offer here is combined with a candle cup and equipped with a tripod base.
