This replica of a War Hanger from the American Revolutionary War Hanger was originally carried by non-commissioned infantry officers. Its distinctive guard design with four slots is based on earlier British designs. Sabres of this type were manufactured and used until the end of the war.
The blade measures approx. 61,6 cm in length and the weighs around 850 g. Thanks to its excellent balance, the sabre feel comfortable and well controlled in the hand. The grip features a wooden core and is covered with leather and a decorative wire wrap, ensuring a secure and comfortable hold. The guard and the pommel are made of matt-finished stainless steel. The hilt offers ample space within the basket, allowing for use even with gloved hands.
The short sabre is supplied with a leather-covered wooden scabbard, fitted with a steel chape and throat. The locket is equipped with a frog button, allowing the sabre to be worn on a baldric or sword belt.
With its well-designed hilt, outstanding balance and razor-sharp blade, this American short sabre will impress even the most discerning collectors. Certainly, an excellent sword for reenactors and collectors alike.
