Hand-Forged Rushlight Holder / Candlestick with Pointed End

Product information "Hand-Forged Rushlight Holder / Candlestick with Pointed End"

Hand-Forged Rushlight Holder with Candle Cup and Pointed End

Rushlights were the lighting source of choice from the Stone Age until well into the 19th century.

This rushlight holder is patterned after historical examples and forged by hand. A piece of fatwood or kindling is simply clamped into the pincer part of the holder. It can burn brighter and faster or produce a dimmer flame which will last longer, depending on the angle of inclination chosen to hold it in place.

The model we offer here is combined with a candle cup and features a shaft that tapers to a point in order to be driven into wood. You can drive it directly into wooden fixtures such as a beam, a pillar or a log, or mount it on a custom wooden base so that it can be placed on a table or the like.

Details:
- Material: hand-forged steel
- Height: approx. 25 cm
- Nozzle diameter: approx. 20 mm
- Weight: approx. 180 g

The wooden base, kindling and candle pictured here are NOT included in delivery.

This is an original ULFBERTH® product.
