Late Medieval Long Sword with Sheath, 15th Century, National Museum Zurich, Switzerland Battle-Ready (Practical Blunt) This beautiful two-handed sword is a reproduction of a late medieval longsword dated around 1450-1460. The original was classified as a Type XVa according to Oakeshott's typology and is on display for people to admire at the National Museum in Zurich (Landesmuseum Zürich), Switzerland. This replica features a hardened spring steel blade which was tempered to a Rockwell hardness of approx. 49-51 HRC. The blade tapers to the point and has a diamond cross section. It is full-tanged and riveted to the pommel. The cross guard is forged out of steel and the leather-wrapped wooden grip is capped with a generously sized fishtail pommel. The sword's gorgeous scabbard is crafted from vegetable tanned, dyed leather and comes complete with a carrying belt with brass buckles. The blade's blunt, 2 mm thick edges and rounded tip make this long sword ideal for combat reenactment,

Nur für Einzeltraining oder Dekozwecke

Das Schwert ist optisch zwar sehr schön , kann aber im Gebrauch leider nicht ganz überzeugen.
Die Klinge ist ziemlich kopflastig was dazu führt , dass sich das Schwert eher träge führen lässt.
Bei meinem Exemplar ist auch der Knauf nicht optimal verarbeitet , da er sich mit bloßer Hand verdrehen lässt.
Durch die Kopflastigkeit werden die Hiebe auch sehr wuchtig , was schon zu leichten Schäden an der Ausrüstung des Trainingspartners führte.
Für Einzeltraining finde ich das Schwert trotzdem gut , da man durch das Gewicht sehr langsam und konzentriert schlägt.
