The Tanto Blur not only offers all the great advantages of the other models of the Blur Series, but also tactical styling with a modified tanto blade with partial serration.
With its angled shape, the tanto blade provides additional piercing power to penetrate tough materials. The unique shape puts more steel behind the point to support its piercing tasks. The short front edge is also particularly handy for opening boxes. For razor sharpness, Kershaw hollow grinds the edge. And for additional versatility, partial serration was added to the blade, giving you a great tool for cutting through materials such as webbing or rope. All this makes the Tanto Blur a good choice for situations in which you're going to need to make an impact on your environment. In an emergency, it could be a real life-saver.
The Tanto Blur's blade is built of high-performance Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel for corrosion resistance and hardness. The black DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating is non-reflective and provides additional extra corrosion resistance. Black handle scales of durable, anodized 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum with sure-grip Trac-Tec inserts complete the folder's discreet, matte look. For easy one-handed opening, the Tanto Blur is equipped with the SpeedSafe® assisted opening system. A short push on the thumb stud overcomes the resistance built into the torsion bar in the SpeedSafe mechanism. The SpeedSafe takes over and the blade moves out of the handle quickly and easily. The pocket clip is reversible for your choice of tip-up or tip-down carry, and the handle is drilled to accept a lanyard.
